However, most of the international students usually stay at apartments or student hostels (other accommodation options).
Registration
Upon arrival, all international students must get a registration (a permit for staying in Russia). If you stay at the university dormitory, you should go to the passport office within 5 calendar days after the arrival to the Russian Federation.

If you have chosen other accommodation options, you should contact an owner of an apartment or a receptionist of a hostel to get your registration.
Important information!
When you cross the border of the Russian Federation, your registration is automatically canceled by the migration department, and upon your new arrival to Russia, you must submit your documents for getting a new registration within 3 calendar days.
