SibMed students have the opportunity to stay not only at the university dormitories, but also at alternative places of residence.

Student Hostel

All rooms have a bed with a mattress, pillow, and blanket. There is also a desk, chair, heaters, and adequate lighting for study and relaxation. There are common areas where students may spend time together.

The student hostel costs 6000 rub a month, which is about $70 depending on the exchange rate.

Apartments

Most of the apartments are fully furnished. However, we recommend visiting the apartment before signing the rental agreement to avoid any misunderstandings.

Before renting an apartment, make sure that utility bills are included in the rental price. In some cases, you have to pay extra money for heating or water and electricity. Do not forget to discuss all details with the owner.

On average, a one-room apartment near the university can cost anywhere from $200 to $350 per month, with rental agreements typically lasting one year.

No matter which housing option you choose, the Department for International Development is available to assist international students with finding housing, communicating with owners, signing contracts, and addressing any living or migration issues.

Registration

Upon arrival, all international students must get a registration (a permit for staying in Russia). If you stay at a student hostel or an apartment, you should contact an owner of an apartment or a receptionist to get the registration within 5 calendar days after the arrival to the Russian Federation.

Important information!

When you cross the border of the Russian Federation, your registration is automatically canceled by the migration department, and upon your new arrival to Russia, you must submit your documents for getting a new registration within 3 calendar days.
